Learning Photoshop...or Photoshop Elements!
Private Instruction or "Learn At Your Own Speed" Courses
Let me guess. (Guessing is ALWAYS so much fun.) You've purchased Photoshop Elements...or (gasp) Photoshop. You've looked at the screen and thought: "Oh my GOD...what is all this stuff???"
If you're like me (and who isn't?) you've tried to learn Photoshop...or Photoshop Elements...from books. This is generally a bad idea since the Photoshop books want to teach you EVERYTHING about Photoshop, even a ton of stuff you don't want to know, and a bunch of stuff you'll never use...which sucks the joy out of learning wonderful software that, quite literally, gives your imagination wings.
I've been there. As the author of seven Photoshop courses, I've often wondered why instructors seem intent on making great software so mind-numbingly boring. And I've wondered why they can't just teach me what I need to know...and how come learning the greatest creative software in the world isn't FUN?
I've been using Photoshop since it was a humble little "CS" -- which would be FIVE editions ago.
I've won a pile of awards along the way -- and I still ask myself why it is that Photoshop instructors don't just teach their students the SIX most IMPORTANT aspects of this great software? Okay...I can hear you from here. (Amazing...isn't it?) "What are these six most IMPORTANT aspects of Photoshop?" you ask.
1) Where the IMPORTANT STUFF is.
2) What the IMPORTANT STUFF does.
3) How to SELECT stuff.
4) How to MOVE stuff.
5) What are these LAYERS all about?
6) What are FILTERS and why should I care?
Once you have the answers to these six questions, you are well on your way to mastering Photoshop...or Photoshop Elements.
Maybe you're interested at learning at your own speed. I've got seven courses available for immediate shipping. Information on them is available on the next page.
My idea is simple: People learn Photoshop and Photoshop Elements by USING it. When we meet, I will set my laptop up next to you at your computer and you'll learn Photoshop by working with it...and if you choose to take one of the courses, rest easy. Each course is loaded with clear instructions, LOTS of screenshots and a step by step guide. Many of our courses even feature FULL SCREEN TUTORIALS. Spiffy, huh?
At the end of a two hour session, you'll be well on your way to working with Photoshop on your own...and you'll have a solid foundation to start from. Check out my flickr page here to see the kind of work I do.
You can use Photoshop in your business, for your art, in your photography...any way you want. You just need some basic information to get you started.
Give me a call. My direct line is (780) 977-2902. I tutor all across Alberta on a one-on-one basis. I also teach small groups all over North America. Or email me using the contact information below. If you have any questions about our courses, feel free to ask about them too. I look forward to introducing you to the world of digital art...and photographic magic.
